The children were sleeping at the crib, while I was strapped with one of them on my back. Ha! All was beginning to fall into place, but we were nowhere near done. It would take lots of time as well as a passion for shopping. In order to stay the cost within my means, I took my boys along with me as I searched for hidden treasures at estate sales. The weekly ritual was that we would walk through estate and garage sales on Thursdays and Saturdays, purchasing a mix of antique and brand new furniture. I then spent working on my projects on our front lawn. The look was a little like this... Here is where my love for in the process of restoring old furniture got started. No matter what, the house was already furnished. On the streets I was able to rent a tiny area and then sold a few pieces. In the end, I accumulated more items that I knew how to use them and outgrew the space. The number of people who visited my home in just one weekend to buy everything on the ground floor. My business Growing Days began here. In addition to my thriving business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. In a way, I had found the perfect equilibrium between motherhood as well as starting my own company. Growing Days just seemed to fit. Nora came into our lives in 2013 as our 4th baby. While I was pleased with the direction my business took, I felt like I needed to take some time off. I took some time away from the old furniture in order to spend the time I needed with my children. It was just what I needed. But after a couple of months off the phone started to call. There were calls from people asking me to assist them in interior decor and home renovations. A majority of them visited my home at my open house for furniture. It wasn't long before I was managing a full-scale business for home improvement. I began by taking clients on one at a pace that I was comfortable with. When you first told me about your home remodeling business I laughed. Indeed, I am laughing a little when I remember the story.
